CHO, YONG-SEOK
Prof. Yong-Seok Cho had a Bachelor’s Degree from
Seoul National University, a Master’s Degree from
University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Ph.D. Degree
in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State
University. He is a professor of School of Automotive
Engineering, Kookmin University and the former
President of Korean Society of Automotive Engineers
(KSAE).

The main research areas of Prof. Yong-Seok Cho are Combustion of IC Engine, Vehicle
Emissions Reduction, Exhaust Gas After-treatment, and Environmentally-Friendly Vehicles.
He won the Prize for Distinguished Scientific and Technological Papers by The Korean
Foundation of Science and Technology Societies in 2007 and received the President’s Award
for Contributions in Korean Automotive Industries in 2015.
He is a member of SAE(Society of Automotive Engineers), KSAE(Korean Society of
Automotive Engineers) and KSME(Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers).
